βThe nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies was made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of star stuff.β
β Carl Sagan
Humanity is the most interesting innovation of the universe. The remnants of exploded stars, elements and complex molecules, combined to create our planet earth, gave rise to biological life, then to homo sapiens, then to humanity.
Humanity is the universe developing an ability to explore and understand its self.
Since the dawn of time, as we taught ourselves how to better explore and understand the universe, we fine-tuned our ability to collaborate and compete. Just as the invention of software transformed computers, the invention of culture transformed biological life otherwise restricted to the instructions encoded within DNA.
Our ability to collaborate within competition puts us at the pinnacle of humanityβs will to explore the universe as we seek to create a wealth of new opportunities. Today, as our Pale Blue Dot is feeling smaller than ever, we have the ability to make our giant leap into the infinite space beyond.
But, when it comes to cultivating solutions to humanityβs most difficult challenges, the global economy is fragmented and even the most promising initiatives falter mid-race. The various stakeholder groups have misaligned interests and understandings.
Moonshot is an attempt to rectify this. To fine-tune our collective innovation engine so that anyone, anywhere can play a role in accelerating humanity. To help guide governments to facilitate the growth of new jobs and opportunities. To help universities train better-prepared students and perform better research commercialisation. To enable large corporations to provide the platforms on which new and valuable businesses can be built. To help investors capitalise after risking their wealth to enable capable founders to create new products and businesses that solve our greatest challenges.
This is the core of Moonshotβs philosophy: to calibrate humanity for co-creation of a future that values the uncovering of new opportunities and wealth by all, for all, through solving our greatest challenges above all else.
To Accelerate Humanity.
